Mag Lam challenges Joey Yung in new film DIVA

Earlier in the music scene, Mag Lam challenged her senior sister (See Jeh) Joey Yung's HK Pop Diva status, and this time she challenges her See Jeh once again in EEG's new film DIVA. This Joey-tailored film is produced by Chapman To and directed by Heiward Mak. The filmmakers asked Mag Lam to take on the second female lead role. 

Joey has already locked down her Pop Diva status in the music scene, but new talent Mag Lam has been well supported as well. Since she entered EEG, it was rumored she's on par with her senior Joey. This time the two encounter for the first time in this new film and should be able to create a lot of sparks. In reality, Mag has always seen Joey as her goal to strive for, and this time in the film she also plays a fan of Joey. First time collaborating with her idol, Mag feels very happy. 

Director Mak expressed she saw Mag's potential in acting, so she cast her in the film. Mag plays a girl who loves singing and often enters different singing competitions. Eventually she was spotted and entered the entertainment circle. She is basically portraying her true self. Although Mag has been in the Lunar New Year film 72 Tenants of Prosperity, at the time she didn't have any romantic storyline, but this time she will be giving her 'first time' to Carlos Chan. The two will have intimate scenes. 

Director Mak expressed she hopes to make Mag become the HK version of Cheer Chan (Yee Ching). She feels that Mag can not only sing, but also has her own style and has the potential for acting. She has the potential to develop become a Diva one day, and even have the chance to be Joey's successor as the next Diva. It was said Joey will have many scenes opposite of Mag, when the time comes they can have a formal confrontation. It will definitely be a good watch.
