Besides it being sold at increasingly higher prices, even the shops are selling it at higher prices. As of yesterday, a shop in Causeway Bay is selling it at $1288.Fans using it as a presentJoey is happy that fans' reaction is warm. She said, "The normal EP has 9 different styles for cover, making fans scrambling to collect all of them. We thought that it would be better that all 9 were released, but now there's still a black market selling it at twice the price. There are fans wanting to buy it to give it to others as presents during the CNY."
There are shops selling the originally $480 boxset for $1288.To thank her fans for their support, she says she'll be giving out lai see. "If I meet any fans holding on to the boxset during the CNY period, I'll give him/her a lai see. Contents will be a mystery, and I'll only give out a limited number of the lai see, while stocks last! And only until the 7th day, People's Day."There will not be a second versionWhen asked if she will release a second version of the EP, Joey said, "No. When the 2000 boxsets are sold out, that's the end. Too much resources were used to produce this 2000 boxsets. Also, if we were to release a second version now, it will be very unfair to those fans who bought this one at the inflated prices." She will be in Mainland during CNY, and only be back on the second day of the New Year.
Yesterday, as the spokesperson Joey Yung took part in skincare brand MOGGI's new product press conference. Her new EP "Joey Ten" has been selling well, besides the 2000 limited edition boxsets sold out, her 9 different cover EP is selling off in several cities. There are plans to push out a second version during Lunar New Year. Joey said: "In order to speed up sales, some CD stores printed all 9 covers to be sold, I am also very happy to be able to help them do business." In appreciation for her fans support, Joey decided to give out big red envelopes and blow kisses to owners of the special edition boxset. Yesterday Joey Yung held an autograph session for her new album, the organizers arranged a few men for her to choose disguised as a dancing guy like MJ, a gentleman and a muscular guy. At the time, I didn't have any thoughts on my work, only listening to what my company told me to do. The young Joey sang slow love songs like "Pained Love", and it wasn't until after "Gorgeous Show" that I slowly added upbeat dance songs into my repertoire. As I grew, I became more familiar with my work environment and understood my needs, strengths and weaknesses, finally daring to voice my opinion on work. I remember at the very beginning, everyone laughed at my suggestions, but nobody's laughing now, they listen and adjust to me. That's why in my later songs, such as "Yellow Doorway", "Be True" and "Always See Angels", you can hear my inner thoughts and feelings in the lyrics. ...Lost time with family"In the past 10 years, I have early starts and late returns, and am only able to have 8 - 10 days off a year. Luckily, I am still living with my mother at the moment, so we see each other at least once a day. It became a bit too careful and I was very uncomfortable with myself then, it wasn't really me. The me now, is very relaxed and carefree, not worried about saying wrong things, since everyone has seen me grow up and knows what kind of person I am." Awards are only a bonusJoey also relaxes her view on music awards. "I still want to win awards, but I understand now that they are only a bonus, and they don't affect how others see me. What really affects me are my actions. If I win an award that I don't deserve, everyone will feel unhappy about my ability, so the most important thing is to sing well, and strive to improve continuously. A few years ago, I purposely tried to change myself, but now I feel the most important thing is to make good music, and not change just because. When you grow up slowly, just like a good song, the feeling, charm and interpretation will be different." Actually, everyday my mother cooks nourishments such as apple pear water, figs and fungus soup etc. which I drink like water."
Joey Yung's postcard limited edition will be a cooperation with international famous watch brand PHILIP STEIN for charity. Yesterday the first day of 3 days charity sale was held in Harbor City. The products include Joey's new EP, autographed posters and Joey's Miffy doll. Joey will donated the money earned for the sale of her 10th anniversary products to charity. Earlier the brand celebrated Joey's 10th anniversary by producing a special limited edition postcard, only 2,200 copies are available worldwide. Fans can use 100 HKD to get the postcard and Joey's new EP. All proceeds will be donated for charitible purposes. Also, the first 60 fans who purchases the postcard and EP on each of the 3 days will get to participate in Joey's charity sale autograph session on February 21st.
Yesterday on 8th day of CNY, Joey Yung held the autograph session for her postcard charity. She expressed that her goal is to raise 200,000 HKD funds for the charity, the most exciting part of this is that she's able to release an album and do charity at the same time. This is her second autograph session for her latest EP, on Feb 28th she will be holding her third one. She said: "It is the most autograph sessions I've head in history. (Taking a break after all the promotions?) Nope, I already took a 3 day break which is also the most time off I had in history!" Although she is currently busy shooting for a new film, the other night Joey and a male companion went to support Taiwanese singer Crowd Lu's concert. Joey exposed: "The girl sitting next to my male friend is his girlfriend, those two are my 'concert legs', not everyone wants to accompany me to watch a concert! You all misunderstood that I got rice (boyfriend)? No... you all misunderstood, luckily I clarified fast enough." She smiled and said that currently there is no "rice" that she can develop with. The day before there was a friend who SMS her telling her that he got a nightmare of dating her.
